Phoenix, Az- The Ryan Racing team showed their dominance at Manzanita Speedway against a packed 25 car field of modlites! At the second to last weekend at Manzaita Speedway Kelley stuggled iin his heat race, but Mike came back to win his! Mike made the win look easy against the modlites top contender John Priest who won the pervious two races. Kelley commented "I knew my dad was going to be fast here, we ran his car last year and did really well, I knew with his experience he would do even better. We're trying a little different setup on my car that I'm still getting used to but we'll be up there with him soon enough!" In the main event Mike would start 4th and Kelley started 22nd. Mike within the first lap quickly made his way to the lead to hold off the field for many laps. On lap 12 Mike pushed a little bit which allowed IMCA Modified racer Jay Foster to get by Mike. From there Mike was all over Foster's bumper but could not make it by. Kelley had a really strong car at the beginning of the race. He quickly showed that he had a car that was capable of running to the front of the field but was caught up behind 3 cars fighting for 19th in the back of the field. After many laps Kelley finally made it by and made it to 14th when the track started chancing for the worst. "We were really fast at the beginning of the run, I couldn't believe how incredibly well the car handled, we could put in anywhere we wanted, but towards the end of the run we started to get really tight in the midddle which really slowed us down. Getting by that pack faster would have really helped me gain more positions but we just couldn't make it happen." Mike was frustrated after the race "There were alot of "coulda woulda sholuldas" in that race. I made a few mistakes that didn't help but we definately had the dominant car throughout the night"
The Ryan Racing Team will continue to move forward as they race once again at Manzanita Speedway for the final race at the 50 year old track. Tommy Felicia a North East Dirt Modified driver from New York will also be joining the team for the final weekend. We invite everyone to come out and watch!
