Suprise, Arizona- Ryan Racing kicked off the season with their first top 5 finish at Canyon Speedway. The team went out to test out and shake the car down and did so much more. The last race the car ran was with Kelley in the car when he had his game together as he competed with race winners at Manzanita Speedway. As you are aware Kelley ended the night with a hard right turn into the wall after Justin Randall hit him.

    Mike tagged his heat race and finished off in 5th position. Mike did not put much action into the heat due to the fact the team just wanted to see how the car was doing. After shaking the car down and finding out everything was working alright the team knew it was time to do some work in the main. 

15 Cars advanced to the main event and Mike was starting 10th. The track was extremely dry and the bottom looked to be where the action was at. The main event started and Mike found him self battling through the back of the field. After fighting his way through Mike was up to 3rd at one point. Mike, Mark Julian and Jay Foster lead the action in the modlite show as the three of them diced it out continuously. Mike overall finished 5th and brought the car home tested and ready. Mike commented "You know I was just glad to see that everything in the car was right [ in the car ] after the crash we went through. A top 5 finish is awesome after being out of the car for a year and a half and we definately know what we need to do to get better". There is still some work to be put in back at the teams shop in Phoenix Arizona and the team looks foward to making the season opener to kick off the modlite season.
